📖 QUR’ANIC VERSES
📌 Surah Hud 11:73
“They said, ‘Are you amazed at the decree of Allah? The mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, O people of the house. Indeed, He is Praiseworthy and Majīd.’”
📚 Tafsir (Ibn Kathir, Al-Qurtubi)**
- This was said to Sarah, the wife of Prophet Ibrahim ﷺ, after she was shocked by the news that she’d have a child in old age.
- Allah reminds her that His decree brings astonishing mercy, and that He is Majīd:
- Glorious in generosity
- Vast in blessing
- Exalted in His planning
Even the unexpected goodness is part of His glorious nature.
🪞 Tafhīm (Relatable Understanding)
- You think something is impossible — then Allah brings it forth in beauty.
That’s Al-Majīd, doing what only the truly glorious can do.
- The one who blesses you with more than you could imagine is not doing it randomly.
He’s doing it from His majestic generosity.
📌 Surah Al-Burūj 85:15
“[He is] the Possessor of the Glorious Throne, Majīd.”
📚 Tafsir (Al-Baghawi, Ash-Shawkani)**
- This verse connects Allah’s majesty with His Glorious Throne — the highest, widest, most exalted creation.
- His “Majīd-ness” is reflected in:
- His Throne
- His words
- His actions
- His decree
He is not just Majīd in essence — everything around Him reflects that majesty.
🪞 Tafhīm (Relatable Understanding)
- You’ve seen powerful people whose surroundings reflect their glory.
But Allah’s majesty is beyond comparison — even His angels tremble in reverence.
- He is Majīd — not because we praise Him, but because He is endlessly worthy of it.
📜 HADITH NARRATION
📌 Sahih Muslim 402a
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas‘ūd (may Allah be pleased with him) — a senior Companion, among the earliest Muslims and renowned for his knowledge of Qur’an:
In tashahhud, the Prophet ﷺ taught us to say:
“O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad…
Verily, You are Praiseworthy, Majīd.”
📚 Tafsir (An-Nawawi, Ibn Rajab)**
- The Prophet ﷺ chose to end this du‘ā with “Majīd”, connecting it to:
- Sending blessings
- Honoring the Prophet
- Recognizing Allah’s supreme status
Even in asking for mercy, the Prophet ﷺ reminded us: You’re asking the One whose glory is beyond measure.
🪞 Tafhīm (Relatable Understanding)
- You’re not making du‘ā to someone distant or limited.
You’re speaking to Al-Majīd — the One who gives not from scarcity, but from infinite nobility.
- The more you understand His glory, the more you ask with confidence and awe.
🌍 EVIDENCE IN TODAY’S WORLD

- Galaxies spinning. Mountains piercing the sky. A newborn’s cry. A soul’s awakening.
All these are signs of a Majīd Lord — whose creation reflects His greatness.
2. Qur’an That Lifts the Soul
- One verse can undo your grief. Another can ignite your repentance.

That’s not random compassion — it’s glory with mercy, majesty with tenderness.

Al-Majīd doesn’t give like humans. He gives like the One who owns the heavens.
❤️ EMOTIONAL ANCHORING

Even when you are small, sinful, or shaky — He is Al-Majīd, and He gives like a King.
🤲 PERSONALIZED DU‘A
(Inspired by Qur’an 11:73, 85:15 and Hadith Muslim 402a)
Not from the Prophet’s exact words — but rooted in authentic meanings
Yā Majīd,
Your glory is endless, and yet You still turn toward me.
Make me remember You in moments of pride, and cling to You in moments of need.
Let me carry a heart that reflects Your nobility.
And let me live as a servant who is never ashamed to ask a Glorious Lord.
