✨ ROOT MEANING
Arabic root: خ – ف – ض (khāʼ • fāʼ • ḍād)

Al-Khāfiḍ is the One who strips false elevation, corrects unjust power, and humbles those whose rise was not rooted in truth.
📖 QUR’ĀNIC FOUNDATION
While the Name Al-Khāfiḍ does not appear in the Qur’an in noun form, it is affirmed by classical Sunni consensus (e.g. Al-Bayhaqī, Al-Ghazālī, Ibn al-Qayyim), and the meaning is embedded throughout the Qur’an.
📌 Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah 56:1–3
“When the Event (the Resurrection) occurs — there is no denying its occurrence. It will bring some down (khāfiḍah) and raise others (rāfiʿah).”

- On the Day of Judgment:
- Al-Khāfiḍ will bring low the arrogant, the deniers, and the oppressors
- And Ar-Rāfiʿ will elevate the sincere, the humble, and the God-conscious
- “Khāfiḍah” here refers to:
- The humbling of false pride, the breaking of illusions, and the reordering of what the world got wrong
The Day will flip the worldly rankings — and Al-Khāfiḍ will do so with perfect knowledge and justice.

Narrated by Abū Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Allah said: ‘Whoever shows enmity to a close friend of Mine, I have declared war against him.’”
📚 Tafsir (Ibn Rajab, Al-Nawawi)**
- One of the ways Allah defends His beloved servants is through Al-Khāfiḍ:
- Humbling their enemies
- Lowering those who try to harm or dishonor them
- Removing status from those who build it on pride, deceit, or injustice
Al-Khāfiḍ protects His friends — not always by removing harm, but by lowering the strength of those who oppose them.

- They seemed untouchable — then truth dismantled them.
That’s Al-Khāfiḍ — bringing down what wasn’t built on truth.
2. You Were Humbled by Life — And It Saved You
- A fall, a loss, a humiliation — and your soul softened.
That was Al-Khāfiḍ — lowering you not to shame you, but to purify and raise you after.
3. A Cruel Leader or Oppressor Lost Power Dramatically
- Once feared, now gone — despised and forgotten.
That’s Al-Khāfiḍ — no throne stands forever without His permission.
4. Your Ego Was Broken — And Then You Found Allah
- You were lowered by a mistake, a loss, a heartbreak.
Al-Khāfiḍ sometimes breaks the ego to return the soul.
