📖 QUR’ĀNIC VERSE
📌 Surah Al-Ikhlāṣ 112:2
“Allah, the Self-Sufficient (Aṣ-Ṣamad).”
📚 Tafsir (Ibn Kathir, Al-Baghawi, Al-Sa‘di)**
- Aṣ-Ṣamad has multiple layers of meaning:
- He is the Master, above all and beneath none
- He has no deficiency, no hunger, no fatigue, no children
- Every creature turns to Him for needs — whether they realize it or not
- Ibn ʿAbbās said: “Aṣ-Ṣamad is the One to whom the creation turns in times of need and whose essence is free of all needs.”
He is the source of stability when all else collapses.

- You ask: “Who can I trust not to let me down?”
Aṣ-Ṣamad says: “Everyone else breaks. I remain. I give without weakening, and I never forget you.”

Narrated by ʿĀ’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her, the beloved wife of the Prophet ﷺ):
The Prophet ﷺ used to recite Surah Al-Ikhlāṣ, along with Al-Falaq and An-Nās, every night before sleeping, blowing into his hands and wiping his body.

- The Prophet ﷺ recited Surah Al-Ikhlāṣ daily — because:
- It affirms tawḥīd, Allah’s Oneness and sufficiency
- It is one-third of the Qur’an in meaning

Aṣ-Ṣamad is the last refuge — and the only one that never closes.

- Not from people. But from the One you cried to in secret.
