📖 QUR’ĀNIC VERSE

📌 Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255 (Āyat al-Kursī)

“…His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High (Al-‘Āliyy), the Most Great (Al-‘Aẓīm).”

📚 Tafsir (Ibn Kathir, Al-Sa‘di, Al-Qurtubi)**

  • Al-‘Āliyy in this ayah confirms:
    • No one shares His dominion or can compare to His elevation
    • His Kursī (Footstool) is symbolic of His authority and supremacy, stretching across the cosmos
    • He is not physically part of creation, nor limited by time or place
  • Al-‘Āliyy is:
    • Above all need
    • Above all flaw
    • Above all rivals

All kings rule by force or fear — but Al-‘Āliyy rules by essence. He is untouchable, majestic, and supreme.

🪞 Tafhīm (Relatable Understanding)

  • You whisper: “Why do the unjust sit on thrones while I feel so low?”

Al-‘Āliyy replies: “Their thrones are borrowed. Mine is eternal. Trust My timing — justice rises from above.”

📜 HADITH REFERENCE

📌 Sahih Muslim 2713a

Narrated by Abū Mūsā al-Ashʿarī (may Allah be pleased with him):

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Allah does not sleep… His Kursī is over the heavens and the earth…”

📚 Tafsir (Ibn Rajab, Al-Nawawi)**

  • The Prophet ﷺ described Allah’s attributes in terms of power and majesty, including:
    • Al-‘Āliyy — His supremacy over the throne and all dominion
    • No one can reach His knowledge, let alone His status
    • Even in duʿā, we raise our hands and look upward — a symbol of acknowledging His Highness

Even when you feel beneath the world — you are still seen, known, and heard by Al-‘Āliyy.

🪞 Tafhīm (Relatable Understanding)

  • You say: “I feel small, powerless, forgotten.”

Al-‘Āliyy says: “Look above creation. I am still here — and I never overlook you.”

🌍 EVIDENCE IN TODAY’S WORLD

1. The Universe Points Upward — In Every Atom and Orbit

  • Gravity, skies, stars — all lift your gaze.

That’s Al-‘Āliyy — the Highest above, reflected in every layer of creation.

2. The Oppressed Often Rise After Humility and Duʿā

  • Those who seemed low are lifted by Allah’s command.

Al-‘Āliyy raises whom He wills — and humbles whom He wills.

3. Human Praise Is Temporary — Divine Status Is Eternal

  • Fame fades. Power falls. But Allah’s greatness only grows.

Al-‘Āliyy is not made high — He always was.

4. You Feel Pulled to Sujood When Words Fail

  • Why fall to the ground to feel closer to God?

Because Al-‘Āliyy is most near when the heart bows in humble reverence.

❤️ EMOTIONAL ANCHORING

Al-‘Āliyy is the One who says:
“Let them rise in arrogance — I am above them all. Let your head fall in sujood — I will raise you.”

He:

  • Is above space, time, and imagination
  • Is higher in status than any creation
  • Has the final say in every matter
  • Elevates the humble, and humbles the proud

You don’t need to climb to reach Al-‘Āliyy — you just need to lower yourself in truth.

🤲 PERSONALIZED DUʿĀ

(Inspired by Qur’an 2:255 and Hadith Muslim 2713a)
Not from the Prophet’s exact words — but drawn from authentic meanings

Yā ‘Āliyy,
Exalted are You above all things.
Let my heart find peace beneath Your greatness.
Elevate me not in this world, but in nearness to You.
And let me remember — that when I lower myself to You, You raise me in rank, in light, and in love.
